Corey Cecil Muhr

Corey Cecil Muhr, 50, of Greeley, Colo., passed away Nov. 7, 2014, after being in failing health over the last decade.

Corey was born Feb. 10, 1964, to Larry and Cherie Muhr in Scottsbluff. He lived his early years on a farm in Banner County and a ranch west of Alliance. A graduate of Kimball County High School in 1982, he later attended Laramie County Community College and Front Range Community College, majoring in landscape design. Michael's in Fort Collins and the Greeley Lowes Home Improvement store were his very favorite places of employment.

While living in Scottsbluff, he joined Kiwanis and became a Key Club sponsor because of his interest in working with young adults. Corey was very much a people person who enjoyed working with the public. He never met a person that he didn't enjoy visiting with and delighted in teasing his friends and relatives. Corey loved doing landscaping, handyman activities and getting computers to work properly. He believed if you are going to do it, do it right.

His one "addiction" was Peeps!! They always cheered him up. The yellow ones were the best, although dark chocolate wasn't too bad either.

Corey loved his stepfather and generally listened to him when he didn't think his mother knew what she was talking about. They spent a good deal of time together going to doctors appointments in Greeley and Denver and always enjoyed each other's company.

Corey didn't have children but his nephew and nieces and then his great nieces and nephew were his pride and joy. His "two Joshua's" had his heart as they both loved cars. He so enjoyed playing cars with little Josh. Corey leaves a great collection of Match Box and Hot Wheels.

He is survived by his parents, Bruce and Cherie Snyder of Greeley, Colo., and Larry and Evelyn Muhr of Scottsbluff; his sister and brother-in-law, Junior and Lorri Norberg of Bushnell; nieces, Sarah (Michael) Malson and Samantha Norbert (Joshua Curtis) of Kimball; great nieces and nephew, Chelsa, Chantel and Joshua; aunt and uncle, Kweilyn and George Kucera of North Platte, uncle and aunt Paul and Cheryl Nelson of Mitchell, and Lisa Brown of Scottsdale, Ariz .; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; a stepbrother, Doug Snyder of Gilbert, Ariz .; a stepsister, Brenda Logan and Sandra (Bill) Mondragon of Denver, Colo .; his very best friends, Lesia Theimann, Steve Nelson, Don and Joyce Maxted, Dale, Doreen and Dylan Henry, Chester Norgren, and many friends; but most of all, the three loves of his constant furry companions, Zac, Matte and Ava.

He was preceded in death by his precious nephew, Joshua Norberg; grandparents, Arthur and Angie Nelson, and Cecil and Julia Muhr ,; step-grandparents, Arthur and Ella Mae Snyder; stepmother, Betty Muhr; aunt, Carol Nelson; uncle and aunt, Tony (Barbara) Selk; uncle Richard Brown; and several other aunts and uncles.

Memorial and interment services will be at 2 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 17, at the Kimball Cemetery. Family and friends are invited for refreshments and fellowship at the Kimball Event Center following the interment.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Corey's memory to be divided among his favorite charities and the Joshua Norberg Memorial Agriculture Scholarship for Kimball County High school graduates, in care of Allnutt Funeral Service, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO, 80631.
