Dorothy I. Shelburne, 87, of Kimball, died on Monday, June 30, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with Pastor Carla Gunn officiating. Inurnment will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, July 25, 2014 from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family. Dorothy Irene Shelburne was born north of Dix on August 24, 1926, the daughter of Gustof and Ellen (Danielson) Pearson. She attended Kimball County schools. She was married to Ralph Shepard on November 27, 1943 in Benton, Arkansas. He preceded her in death in 1959. She knew she needed a job to take care of her family, so she went to work for John Thacker at the Calico and Hikry Inn for 25 years. She was married to Herbert Jones in February of 1960 in Kimball. He preceded her in death on April 2, 1960. She was then married to Melvin Jenson in Kimball on September 12, 1964. He preceded her in death on October 30, 1965. She was then married to Sam Shelburne for a short time. Dorothy then worked at the Beef N Brunch for another 16 years, she retired in 1997. She enjoyed dancing and listening to live music. She loved spending time with her friends and family.
Survivors include her sons Larry Shepard of Cheyenne, WY., and John Paul (Mindee) Jones of Kimball, NE; daughters Janice Hinton of Kimball, NE., Bonnie (Chet) Isaacs of Kisse Mills, MO., Debbie (Mike) Schadegg of Kimball, NE., Sandy Stevenson of Kimball, NE., and step children Wes, Gloria and Jerry Jenson; sister Margie Steele of Frutia, CO; 17 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 step fathers, 3 husbands, 2 sisters, 1 brother and 4 grandsons and 1 great grandson.
