Lydia Dixon

 

Lydia Dixon, 92, of Kimball, died at her home in Kimball on Saturday, April 19, 2014. Cremation has been held and burial will be at a later date in Worland, Wyoming. Friends may view the obituary and leave condolences for the family at http://www.cantrellfh.com. Memorials may be given to the family. The services for Lydia have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Lydia Dixon was born in Mitchell, Nebraska on March 25, 1922, the daughter of John and Anna (Kammerzell) Lipps. She was raised and attended school in Mitchell and graduated in 1940. She moved to Wheatland, Wyoming and worked at the local dime store. She met Cecil Dixon while he was stationed at Fort Guernsey, and they were married on August 19, 1945. They lived in Ohio for a short period of time. The couple moved to Worland, Wyoming and Lydia worked as a homemaker and also helped on the family farm. They continued living in Worland until moving to Kimball in 2008. She loved being with family and friends. Lydia was a wonderful cook and baked many German dishes for her family. She also loved gardening and embroidery. She made many of the clothes that her children wore while they were growing up. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her son Steven Ray Dixon of Worland, WY; daughters Carolyn Ann Sisk of Pine Bluffs, WY., Connie Marie (Ernie) Huerter of Kimball, NE., Susan Jane (John) Williamson of Cheyenne, WY., Cindy Renee Siebert of Gillette, WY and Bonnie Jean Herren of Edmonton, Canada; brothers Raymond Lipps of PA., Ray (Delores) Lipps of Casper, WY., and Donald Lipps of Cody, WY; sisters Dorothy Lofing of Worland, WY., and Irene Kieser of Worland, WY; 16 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son David, grandsons Sean White and Andy Dixon, granddaughter Amber Barkell, brother Johnny Lipps, and infant brother and sister and sisters Wilma Weber, Ruby Roberts, Frieda Glantz.
