Joan A. Snyder

Joan A. Snyder, 76, of Kimball, entered her Eternal Home on October 29, 2013, with her family by her side and with the assistance of Prairie Haven Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at the First English Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Amanda Esping officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view the obituary and leave condolences for the family. Memorials have been established to the First English Lutheran Church or Kimball Plains Historical Society. The services for Joan have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Joan Alice Snyder was born on September 15, 1937, the daughter of Henry and Lora (McCann) Stauffer. Joan graduated from Banner County High School and attended nursing school in Scottsbluff. Joan married Glendel Snyder in Harrisburg at the Harrisburg Community Church on September 28, 1955. They lived in Banner County until 1957 when they moved to their current location in southern Kimball County. Joan was a member of the First English Lutheran Church, active in Lutheran Women's Circle, Kimball Plains Historical Society, a founding member of the Merry Workers Extension Club, member of the Area Global Organic Association and Women Involved in Agriculture.

Survivors include her husband, Glendel Snyder of Kimball; children, Raymond Snyder,Lawrence (Nicole) Snyder all of Kimball, NE., Laurrie(Dennis) Cronin of Bennington, NE., and Ronda (Kimon) Litras of Homer , NE; 11 Grandchildren, Dillon, Adam and Michelle Snyder; Alicia, Patrick, Katelyn and Daniel Cronin; Colton and Madison Snyder; and Lukas and Jedidiah Litras; brother Charles (Margie) Stauffer and sister Connie (Roy) Kruger; In-laws Val Deane (Kay) Snyder and Marva (Lanny) Schiessler.

Preceded in death by her parents and in-laws, Shorty and Roberta Snyder, and brother-in-law, Linden Snyder.
