Fyrne I. Shepard

Fyrne I. Shepard, 90, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Thursday, October 10, 2013. Cremation has been held. Graveside memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 at the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may view the Book of Memories and leave condolences for the family at http://www.cantrellfh.com . Memorials may be given to the Giving Tree through the Kimball Rotary in Fyrne’s memory. The services for Fryne have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Fyrne Irene Shepard was born in Crook, Colorado on May 13, 1923, the daughter of Clarence and Esther (Philamalee) Beebe. She was raised and attended elementary school in Crook. She moved with her family to Sedgwick, Colorado and graduated from the Sedgwick High School. She moved with her family to Bushnell and that is where she met and was later married to Cecil Wayne Shepard on May 11, 1952. The family moved with the oil fields and Fyrne worked as a cook in food service and as a homemaker taking care of her family. Following Cecil’s death she moved back to Kimball in 1991 to be closer to family. She loved crocheting, camping and fishing, gardening and playing cards. Fyrne also enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include her sons Tom (Debbie) Shepard of Bushnell, NE., and Tim (Lynnette) Shepard of Kimball, NE; daughter Terri Broussard of Kimball, NE; sisters Shirley Zorn of Pine Bluffs, WY., and Sharon Kirkman of Greensborough, NC; 8 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Harley and Dean; sister Bertha Stahla and granddaughter Stacy Cook.
