Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First
The Kimball Police Department and the Kimball County Sheriff’s department were called to Motel Kimball Saturday night to investigate a report of terroristic threats that ultimately led to the arrest of two suspects.
“There was a complaint of a terroristic threats made, the party was at Motel Kimball. The officer on duty requested assistance to back him up going and speaking to this individual. We proceeded to do so, and they did find a small amount of what they expected to be methamphetamine,” Sheriff Harry Gillway said.
Bo Fernandez a.k.a Bo Redhawk, 48, and Angela Brandon, 35, were arrested at the scene and taken into custody into Kimball County Jail, according to Gillway. Fernandez was charged with making terroristic threats, a Class IV felony, and possession of a controlled substance, a Class IV felony. Brandon was charged with false reporting, a Class I misdemeanor.
According to Kimball Police Sergeant Jesse Godden, the case also involved an element of identity fraud as Fernandez had used fake identification under another name in order to get the motel room.
“He had used the name Gabriel De La Vega in order to get the motel room, and he also used it when he was asked to give us his identification,” Godden said.
It didn’t take long for Godden to figure out that the name and identification were fake.
“The victim of the terroristic threats confirmed his real name for us, and the ID was blatantly fake. It didn’t match state regulations at all. It wasn’t even close,” Godden said.
Brandon pled no contest to the charges against her in Kimball County Court on April 1 and was found guilty by Judge Randin Roland. She was sentenced to 10 days in Kimball County Jail with three days credit for time already served.
Fernandez’s case was continued in Kimball County Court on April 1, and he will next appear in Kimball County Courtroom 1 on April 10, at 9:45 a.m. for a preliminary hearing.
