Western Nebraska Observer - Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Athletes Of The Week

Danika Daum

Kimball freshman Danika Daum stamped her name all over the subdistrict first round contest against Mitchell. She led the Longhorns with 22 points, grabbed 13 rebounds--a double-double--and dished out a couple assists. She also recorded 10 boards at Hemingford.

Bryant Knigge

Despite his team suffering consecutive defeats, Potter-Dix’s Bryant Knigge was a force to be reckoned with over the weekend. He scored 21 points in the Coyotes 74-52 loss to Peetz and 26 against Pine Bluffs in a 74-49 affair. In each game he was the only Potter-Dix player to break double figures.

Others Of Note

CALEB REUTER

The Kimball senior forward scored a team high 17 against Sutherland, adding to the 12 point performance at Hemingford.

JAKE READER

Reader was dominant underneath in two Kimball wins. He tallied a double-double versus Sutherland and harried the Bobcats with 9 boards and 11 points.

DARBI KLINKHAMMER

Although 8 points and 7 rebounds is nowhere near top marks for the Longhorns senior, Klinkhammer made them count in subdistrict play, with 4 points in the waning seconds.

SCOTT SMITH

After a 300 game last week, Smith again dominated league play at KimBowl.
