Wyoming book author C. M. Wendelboe will be at our library to talk about his books on THIS Thursday, February 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. His first two books, “Death Where the Bad Rocks Live” and “Death Along the Spirit Road” are part of a series set in Pine Ridge . Please set the time aside now to attend and hear the background. If there are any budding authors that attend, he will talk about writing also.

The photography contest organized by the HighPlains ShutterBug Photography Club is fast approaching. The photographs are due at the library on February 11. The photos will be on display at the library for Viewer’s Choice Voting. 8” X 10” pictures should be attached to poster board or matting so they will stand up -- No frames.

The next very basic computer class begins February 19 for three sessions. Please come in and sign-up due to limited space. Another Kindle class and another Facebook class will be scheduled soon.

Story Time Schedule: Feb. 6 is ‘Arthur’; Feb. 13 is ‘Won’t You Be My Valentine?’; Feb. 20 is ‘Music, Music, Music!’; Feb 27 is ‘Fairy Tales’. Storytime is at 10:30 am on Wednesday mornings. If there is any interest for another story time, such as after school, let us know.

New Non-fiction: “Fifty State Capitols”; “Ten Years Later: Six People Who Faced Adversity and Transformed Their Lives”; “Calligraphy”; “The Miracle Carb Diet”.

The history section of the library, especially the Nebraska history is being increased with the following books: “Standing Bear and the Ponca Chiefs”; “The Great Plains: America’s Lingering Wild” (a pictorial work); “Scenery, Curiosities, and Stupendous Rocks: William Quesenbury’s Overland Sketches” (contains drawings of landmarks along the Oregon Trail); “Nebraska’s Post Office Murals: Born of the Depression and Fostered by the New Deal” (a pictorial work); “A Traveler’s Guide to Railroad 1869” by an area author, Eugene Miller; “First Telegraph Line Across the Continent: Charles Brown’s 1861 Diary”.
