Evelyn Johnson

Evelyn D. Johnson, 86, of Kimball, died at the Chimney Rock Villa in Bayard, on Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 18, 2013 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Father Robert Karnish officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Friends may view the obituary and leave condolences for the family at http://www.cantrellfh.com. Memorials may be given in Evelyn’s name to the family and can be sent to Mike Johnson, 719 Mountain View Lane, Scottsbluff, NE 69361. The services for Evelyn have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Evelyn Delores Johnson was born on June 22, 1926, the daughter of Clarence and Emily (Hendrickson) Moul. She moved with her family to Kimball in 1931. She was raised and attended school in Kimball and graduated from the Kimball High School in 1944. She was married to Joseph Johnson in Kansas on January 20, 1944. The family made their home in Kimball. Evelyn worked as a homemaker raising her family while Joe served in the armed forces. The family moved to Bridgeport in 1961 and she worked for the Bridgeport Manor as a CNA. They moved back to Kimball in 1969 and Evelyn worked for the Kimball County Manor as a CNA. She retired from the Manor in 1999. She loved baking and cooking, and was a terrific mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her sons Mike (Alma) Johnson of Scottsbluff, and Rick Johnson and friend B.J. of Bayard; daughter Dixie Schmunk and friend Stuart of Bayard; brother Colin Moul of Kimball; nine grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, son Joe, Jr., brother Wendell Moul and sister Norma Jefferson preceded her in death.
