Potter-Dix Girls Lead From Start To Finish

The Coyotes held a consistent lead throughout their game against the South Platte Knights January 5.

Potter-Dix took the advantage early on, with Amanda Maas putting them on the board on a pass from Conner Wolff with 7:30 to go in the first quarter. The Coyotes increased their lead near the end of the first quarter with a three point play by Kaidee Livingstone, who was able to bank in a shot while drawing a foul from South Platte’s Grace Kotschwar leaving the score at 11-5.

The second quarter saw the Coyotes working together to cut through the Knights’ full court pressure with 7:40 left to go with a series of passes down court from Conner Wolff to Ball to Taylor Juelfs to Morgan Wolff who was able to make a layup on the other side.

“I think we’ve come along as a team very well overall. We have lower turnovers, and on the boards, it looks great,” Morgan Wolff said.

After the halftime break, Potter-Dix pulled completely away from the Knights, ultimately coming out on top with a 58-40 victory.

“We still had too many turnovers and breakdowns on defense, but coming out of the break it’s nice to have a win,” Head Coach Jeff Einspahr said.

The Coyotes will next face Leyton on Friday.

“It’s always a big game against Leyton. They’re our rivals,” Juelfs explained.
