Local Students Earn Academic Honors

Students from the region are among the 239 names on Chadron State College’s fall 2012 president’s list. In order to qualify for the list, students must earn all A’s and be enrolled in at least 12 hours of coursework.

Qualifying for the president’s list were:

Diane Baluska, Kimball

Brent Bussinger, Kimball

Jamie Murdoch, Kimball

Jenna Whelchel, Harrisburg

Kristen Juelfs, Potter

Students from the region are also among the 384 names on Chadron State College’s fall 2012 dean’s list. In order to qualify, students must earn a grade-point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and be enrolled in at least 12 hours of coursework.

On the dean’s list:

Kinsey Knaub, Harrisburg

Clint Serres, Dix

Lance Winters, Kimball

Douglas Thompson, a past graduate of Kimball High School, was named to the Dean’s List at Morningside College for the 2012 fall semester.

Thompson is a senior majoring in business administration.

Each semester the Dean’s List recognizes students who achieve a 3.67 grade point average or better and complete at least 12 credits of coursework with no grade below a “C-.” William C. Deeds, vice president for academic affairs and dean of the college, recently released the Dean’s List for the fall semester, and each student received a letter of recognition.
