Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Library News

Hope you all had a restful and wonderful Holiday time. Back to routine, whatever that is.

Rachelle Eversole will be returning for two painting classes this spring. The first one will be January 19, 2013, and the second one will be March 9. Class starts at 9:00 am. There is a fee for the class which covers all supplies, but participants must bring a roll of paper towels. Sign up at the library by January 15 for the first class–“Sunset Mountains.” The minimum limit is six, so encourage others to participate.

Wyoming author, C. M. Wendelboe, will be at our library to talk about his books on February 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. His first two books, “Death Where the Bad Rocks Live” and “Death Along the Spirit Road” are part of a series set in Pine Ridge, so he will talk a little about that and some historical connections the characters have to that area. He is looking forward to visiting our library. More information will be in next week’s column. The library has his books for your reading enjoyment. Readers of Margaret Coel will enjoy them.

Coming soon: Kindle classes, a basic computer class for adults, gun safety for women, possibly some craft classes, and more.

Overdrive news: The Nebraska Library Commission is ordering 500 or more new ebooks and audiobooks. When users click on the new additions it will only bring up 200, so use the Advanced Search buttons to find more books to check out.
