Junior High Girls Wrap Up Basketball Season

Kimball’s junior high girls 7th Grade squad ended their season with a 3-6 record.

They began their final three game swing with a 29-16 win over Bayard, Alex Reader (12 points) and Kaylyn Nelson (6 points) doing much of the damage. They were helped by Hannah Biesecker and Justine Heeg, who combined to put 7 on the board.

Lila Moore and Crystal Pile rounded out the scoring.

Against Mitchell, the offense slumped and the Longhorns stumbled 29-11. Nelson led the way with 5 points.

In the finale, the 7th Graders faced Sidney. Reader hit the Red Raiders for 18, but it was not enough as Sidney pulled away 40-28.

The 8th Grade side also ended at 3-6, but finished strong.

The trounced Bayard 35-14 behind Jadyn Golding’s 16 point effort. Kaitlin Wurdeman and Shauntee Daily tallied 13 combined. Raelynn Hinton, Alexis Lulf and Hanna Klosterman also had good outings.

Coming off the win, they took on Mitchell and emerged with a 28-21 victory. Two Longhorns--Golding (13) and Hinton (10) ended up in double digits. And, by accident, Mitchell helped out by scoring 2 for Kimball late in the game.

Unfortunately they could not sustain the momentum against a larger Sidney side, falling 55-18 despite a courageous offensive day by Golding.
