The Lady Longhorns have only one home game left in the 2024 season. The Arena should be packed on Oct. 15 for the home JV/V game with Paxton. The team will travel for eight games beginning from Tuesday, Oct. 8, with a Triangular at Bayard, then on the 10th they play at Morrill. It's off to Perkins County for a district game at 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 3, for the Kimball Longhorns, who aim to get back in the win column after their loss, top photo, to visiting district leader Bridgeport last Friday. The Four Winds Golf Tournament on Sept. 14 attracted 26 foursomes and raised more than $55,000 for capital improvements, such as sprinklers and other upgrades, at the Kimball golf course and recreation area. The Kimball cross country team will travel to Alliance on Saturday, then to Ogallala on Sept. 26, completing half of their season. Kimball bull rider Cody Brinkman continued his winning ways with a first place showing in bull riding Monday at the Nebraska State Fair High School Rodeo in Grand Island. His score/time was 70.00. PEETZ, Colo. – The Potter-Dix Coyotes and Peetz Bulldogs kicked off the 2024 season with an opening-day matchup in Peetz on Thursday, Aug. 29. Kimball High School freshman JaLeigh Bohac picked up a varsity uniform and captured the starting shortstop position for the the Gering Bulldogs softball team. After the Kimball School Board negotiated a cooperative arrangement with Gering Public Schools, JaLeigh will begin her high school softball career with Gering High School.
