Flag poles now stand tall awaiting their flags in Kimball's Gotte Park. This project has been two years in the making, and is funded by approximately $8,000 in ACE returns. The poles, which stand 25 and 30 feet tall, required the bulk of the money at a total of $6,500 with about $2,000 for shipping the poles. With students heading back to school next week, Kimball Public Schools announces some changes at both the Kimball Jr/Sr High School and Mary Lynch Elementary for this upcoming year. School will begin on Friday, Aug. 17, at 8 a.m. and will end at 1 p.m., on that first day. The 27th annual Kimball Hospital Foundation Golf Classic attracted 120 golfers, with 30 four-person teams taking part in the Saturday event held at the Four Winds Golf Course this past weekend. Softball around Kimball is over for the 2018 season, from youth to adult leagues. Your Kimball Girls 10U team finished third for the season and also took third in the end of the season tournament. The team played 14 games throughout the long season from mid-May to the beginning of July. Kimball lost to just two teams during this season. The Kimball Recreation Area was a busy place this past Saturday with a softball tournament going on, the big Kimball Hospital Foundation Golf classic being held and some archery competition being held down by the Trap Club area.
