    With further research done on the proposed renovation of the outdoor concession stand under the Kimball High School stadium, the Kimball Board of Education is no closer to making a decision on the matter. Board members asked last month for more information from Building and Grounds Director Gregg Fossand, Superintendent Marshal Lewis and the Building and Grounds Committee on the project.   • City negotiates wheeling rates for local wind farm

    At a recent emergency meeting for the Kimball Board of Public Works, the board negotiated the following terms for the wheeling rate, the rate that is charged to transport electrical energy. Sandhills Energy has agreed to make a one-time, upfront, payment of $250,000 to the City of Kimball for the wheeling rate.     Donald Gene Onigkeit, 62 of Kimball, Nebraska passed away peacefully Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at his home after a five-year battle with cancer. His memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 1:00 pm at Presbyterian Church in Kimball with Pastor Alan Foutz officiating. Family requests casual attire.     As Kimball took the field at home Thursday, June 1, the young Legion players didn't seem quite ready for their first game against Bridgeport. Kimball had the better bats than Bridgeport and played good defense but when it came to pitching, the local athletes struggled to find a good rhythm.     The Kimball High golf season is over, but the Kimball High golfers are still busy with their game, and will be all summer. This group is dedicated to the sport! At the Panhandle Junior Golf Tournament held at Gering this past week, Zane Anthony captured 1st place with his round of 75, which, by the way, included 5 birdies.
