    Honor Flight veterans were pleased with Kimball's reception and patriotism as their convoy made its way through the streets and past hundreds of citizens offering their respect and gratitude. Dozens of WWII and Korean veterans traveled through Kimball last Thursday, May 17, on their way to DIA as part of the Nebraska & Colorado WWII and Korean War Honor Flight Convoy.   • Disappointing turnout statewide for Primary Election - Kimball County logged 33 percent

    The 2018 Primary election results are in and Kimball County counted 921 votes of 2,773 registered voters, for a turnout of 33 percent. According to the Secretary of State, John Gale’s, office, voter turnout statewide was less than hoped for despite outstanding turnout in several counties. Statewide, preliminary turnout for this primary election was less than 25 percent prior to canvassing, but once all of ballots are counted, the total is likely to fall below the expected 28 percent.     Charles Bert Edmunds, 68, of Bayard, Nebraska, passed away on May 14, 2018 at Northern Colorado Long Term Acute Hospital in Johnstown, Colorado. His funeral service will be held at Faith United Church of Christ in Bayard, NE at 10am on Saturday, May 19, 2018 with Pastor Tom Smith presiding.     Kimball High's Brady Kilgore closed out his junior year of track and field with a silver medal performance at the 2018 Nebraska State Track Meet in Omaha! Kilgore brought home 2nd place honors in the Class C 110 meter high hurdles, clocking 15.17 in the finals after running 15.273 in the prelims.
