  • Potter-Dix boys, girls take second at MAC meet

    Potter-Dix took second place in both the boys and girls standings in the Minuteman Activities Conference track meet held Saturday in Bayard. The host school topped P-D in the closest of margins in the boys standings, winning with 127 points to the Coyotes' 126 points. The girls race was also neck-and-neck with Bayard posting 118 points to win, while P-D was next with 110 points. The Coyotes won seven events and finished second in four additional events.   • Muneio, Biesecker win SPVA titles

    Madison Biesecker and Ryan Muneio emerged as SPVA Conference champions for Kimball at the conference track and field meet held at Hershey this past Friday. Muneio got his gold medal winning the boys 400 meters with his personal best time of 51.90. He had a good day as he also ran 4th in the 800 in 2:06.70 and ran a leg on the 4x100 relay that finished 3rd in 45.60.   • Kimball boys win Pine Bluffs junior high meet

    Kimball won the boys division of the Pine Bluffs Junior High Track and Field Invite this past week amassing 144 points to run away with the team championship. Burns was a distant runnerup in the 13 school field. Bayard won the girls division with 115 points holding off Southeast who finished second with 106. Kimball was 4th with 54 while Bridgeport was 3rd with 57. Lots of highlights on the day for Kimball.   • Stock market contest success

    Fifth grade students from Mary Lynch Elementary School recently traveled to Lincoln for the statewide program for doing well in the stock market program for elementary students. In addition to attending the awards ceremony, students sat in on part of a state legislative session and were introduced to the state legislators. They also toured various sites in Lincoln.     Jordyn McDowall was announced as the winner of the Kimball County Home Extension scholarship. The scholarship is for $300. McDowall will attend Concordia University in Seward this fall.
