    Most are familiar with the member-owned electric co-op located in Pine Bluffs. The company serves customers in Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado. According to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for the company, Lindsay Forepaugh, Kimball County owes the company $99,634.01 in a refund on the 2015 taxes paid.     Although Doug Provance grew up in Trenton, Missouri and graduated there from Grandview High School in 1981, Kimball is home. Provance met the lady who would later become his wife, Jennifer, when they both worked as military police officers in security for the United States Air Force at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona.     Jordan Greenwood's par-round of 72, not only garnered him medalist honors, but also sparked a win by the Kimball High Boy's Golf Team in their season opening tournament play as the Longhorns won the Bayard Tournament by 12 strokes over runner-up Bridgeport.     Sierra Starr recently completed her first year wrestling and she was part of a group of young ladies that made state history. Starr and all of the ladies that wrestled at the Midwest Classic Nationals in Kearney on April 2 and April 3 were the first ever full girls' league in the state.     The Kimball Junior High Track Season got underway with the Shorthorns competing at the Bayard Invite this past week. The Kimball boys finished seventh in the 15 team field, scoring 28 points while the girls wound up 12th with 13 points.     The big news this week is Kimball winning the Bayard Golf Tournament, and winning it handily by 12 strokes over runner-up Bridgeport. The Horns shot 334 and had 3 players in the top ten medal group including Jordan Greenwood in the number one spot to take medalist honors with his round of 37-35=72. Jordan was the lone team member with high school experience with three freshmen playing their first high school tournament along with senior Tyler Magninie, also his first tournament ever.     Braylon Miller, son of Chad and Julia Miller of Kimball, competed in the 2016 Knights of Columbus State Free Throw Championships on Saturday, April 2. Braylon qualified for the State competition by winning his age division at the council level on February 7 and the district level on Feb. 21, both in Kimball. He followed through with a win at the regional level in Alliance on March 13.     Kaitlyn Cole, 7, of Dix was recently selected as a state finalist in the National American Miss Nebraska pageant. Cole, daughter of Heather and Donny Cole, will travel with her family to Omaha to compete on Saturday, April 16 and Sunday, April 17 in the 7 to 9-year-old age bracket.
