The Kimball County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday to receive an update on Kimball Health Services. Kayla Fennell was appointed to replace M. Two Banner County officials and one Banner County employee pleaded “no contest” Monday to an amended charge of “attempt of a Class 2 misdemeanor.” All three were found guilty of the charge and sentencing will occur in May for the individuals. The City of Kimball has announced that the power supplier Western Area Power Administration (WAPA) will be shutting down electricity to Kimball parts of those two days. On Monday, the power will be shut down for 2 hours but Thursday, make a plan because from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., the WAPA power will be shut off. After delivering mail in the Potter area for 62 years, Annie Juelfs retired on March 31. The retirement party and celebration of 62 years of mail service for Annie occurred on Saturday. The Kimball School Board met for a special meeting on March 29. With all members present, a vote on the purchase and replacement of seating in the Harry McNees Auditorium was the main item on the agenda. According to Superintendent Trevor Anderson, there are now 763 seats in the auditorium. The board voted to replace the seats with 450 new larger seats with the cost not to exceed $107,199.50. The Colts and Fillies 4-H club held its monthly meeting at the 4-H building, Sunday, March 27th. President Emily Whitney led the meeting with 12 members present. During the meeting vice president Rachel Burger gave a demonstration on different kinds of equine bits, for her Level ll testing, which corresponded with the purpose of the meeting. Clyde and Charlotte were both able to pass away peacefully at home surrounded by family. They were born and raised in Redding, Kansas, and started their own family there. The Dead Eye Shooters 4-H Club competed at the 2022 Nebraska State 4-H BB & Air Rifle Match in Mitchell last weekend. The Dead Eyes were represented by 13 BB competitors and 6 Air Rifle competitors. The kids were coached by parents and club leaders Larry and Nicole Snyder. The BB match was held on Saturday, with over 120 kids participating from across the state. The Potter-Dix Coyotes track and field teams competed on Saturday at the Bayard CD Invitational. With beautiful weather and a slight breeze, the athletes had a great day for competition, and for the boys the team from Pine Bluffs, Wyo., took top honors with 86 points, and Bayard took home top honors for the girls squad with 79 points.
