This is a question facing the Kimball City Council as the Public Alliance for Community Energy (ACE) board has approved a disbursement to Kimball totaling $4,281.98 through ACE’s revenue return program. In October 2016 the City of Kimball participated in a housing study through Western Nebraska Economic Development. The study identified that in order for Kimball County and the City of Kimball’s population to remain stable through 2021 we would need 92 new units in our community (combination or owner occupied and rental). Rose Marie Anderson 81, of Ogallala passed away on Saturday March 10, 2018 at the Ogallala Community Hospital. Rose Marie was born on January 14, 1937 in Sidney to Chester and Catherine (Trienan) Phelps. She attended school in Lorenzo, NE until the family moved to Kimball where she graduated from Kimball High school in 1955. She worked for Ideal Market, Safeway and First State Bank of Kimball. The wins were few and far between this past season for the Kimball High Boy's Basketball Team. In fact, the Longhorns ended up with just 4 wins and 16 losses, but the future looks brighter for Coach Luke Dea and the Horns as they graduate only 1 senior and return a lot of players with varsity experience. Mike Daum did it again. Our Kimball man led his South Dakota State Jackrabbits to a championship win over rival South Dakota in the Summit Conference Tournament, and, once again, they are headed to the Big Show. In his three years with the program, the Jacks have accomplished this feat. And, once again, Mike was named MVP of the tournament.
