    Kimball Police Officer Greg Taylor was dispatched to 607 East Third St. (formerly the Arabian Motel and now Kimball Extended Stay) on Saturday, March, 2 at approximately 2:45 p.m. with reports of possible methamphetamine discovered by cleaning staff in one of the occupied rooms. If the bus driver can see the road, and if they have them plowed open by Saturday, the Kimball High track team will head up to Chadron State College for their first meet of the season, which thankfully is an indoor meet.     The 2018-19 basketball season for the Kimball High girls wound up with 10 wins and 11 losses, but when we consider the opposition the Lady Longhorns faced throughout the season a lot of credit has to be awarded to the Kimball team. They suffered an early season loss to Dundy County-Stratton, which finished 2nd in the State D-1 Tournament and highly ranked. As a team, they improved the school mark of fewest points allowed in a game when they held Potter-Dix to just 12, bettering the old mark of 13 to McPherson County in 2014-15.     A 56-year-old Potter man has been sentenced to 10 to 15 years in prison following his conviction for attempted first degree assault. Court documents say that Dwayne Burton was sentenced on Friday in Cheyenne County District Court. In May, Burton reportedly followed his wife outside with a gun.
