    The Potter Duckpin Bowling Alley gives local residents not a only a chance to unwind but also a chance to take a step back into the past.   • Recall effort in Bushnell fails to get enough signatures

    The recall attempt in the Village of Bushnell has failed to acquire the needed signatures to host a special election. The recall attempt had been started by Dwayne Brackeen of Bushnell on October 22, 2013, attempting to recall Tim Nolting, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Bushnell. The reasoning behind the recall efforts were based on allegations that Nolting had intimidated board members along with business owner Fal Calvert during his time as serving as chairman.   • School Resource Officer starts work for Kimball PD

    Kimball has acquired a School Resource Officer (SRO). The SRO is stationed at the high school but also keeps an eye on the elementary school.   • Wildcat Hills Nature Center offers unique education to local residents

    A little over halfway between Kimball and Scottsbluff there sits The Wildcat Hills Nature Center. It's an educational center that showcases the wildlife of the local area. Wildcat Hills is often a destination for school field trips. According to Amanda Filipi mostly first second and third graders visit with their schools.     Myrtle Jenson, age 82 of Sidney, NE passed away at the Sidney Regional Medical Center Extended Care, Thursday morning January 9, 2014. Memorial services were held at 10:00 A.M., Monday, January 13th in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Sister Marietta Spenner officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.     The Kimball High boys' basketball team suffered their first loss of the season at the hands of a very strong class B Sidney team this past Thursday night on the latter's home court with a final score of 63-45.     A heart-breaking loss, a heart-thumping win, and a somewhat easier win gave the Kimball High Lady Longhorns a record of two wins and 1 loss in last week's competition. It started with the heart breaking 1 point loss at home on a Tuesday evening to a solid Mitchell club with the visiting Lady Tigers prevailing 44-43, followed by the ultra exciting 1 point win on the road at class B Sidney with the Lady Horns coming out on top 36-35, and wound up with a 51-43 victory on Friday night at Pine Bluffs...

    Highlight of the week for the Kimball High Wrestling Team was an individual championship by Garrett Ryan at the Western Trails Conference Tournament held in Gordon this past Thursday. Ryan, a junior, pinned his way to the championship in the 120 pound weight class as Kimball finished 5th in the team standings and had 4 other wrestlers place.
