    July Kimball-Banner Chamber of Commerce Director, Jeanette Rabender, resigned. When asked why she said the reasons were personal. The resignation does come at a time when Kimball is at a critical juncture in it's economic future and development. However, Rabender and her knowledge of what's going on will be missed.     On the morning of December 20, 2013, the county commissioners met to discuss and review the resumes and to interview the applicant for county assessor. After the Pledge of Allegiance and a prayer, the commissioners started the process to hire a new county assessor.   • Hunsaker to sing at Carnegie Hall in February

    In Kimball, and most likely around the nation as a whole, it is extremely rare to hear of a high school student who has been hand picked to sing in Carnegie Hall in New York City. However, recently, Kimball High School senior Courtney Hunsaker achieved such a feat, much to the pride of her family, community and her music teacher David Thelen.     Dona J. Buchanan, 82, of Harrisburg, died at the Kimball Health Services on Friday, December 20, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Pastor Ken Boston officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery.     MANDERSON, WY Manderson resident Fern Victoria Chambers, 62, died on Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Worland Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Worland. Fern was born on August 20, 1951 in Arcadia, Nebraska, a daughter of Howard Leroy "Hap" and Velma Rose (Mars) Applegarth.   • Longhorns unbeaten at break

    The Kimball High boys are perfect and undefeated at the Holiday break with a record of 6-0 after wins over Hershey and Bayard. Fifty-nine seemed to be the feature number in the final weekend before the state mandated sports moratorium as they won over Hershey in a Friday night home game 59-36 and then handled Bayard at Bayard 59-31.     The Kimball High wrestling team placed sixth as a team, and had wrestlers place at the Sidney/Bridgeport Invitational Tournament hosted by Sidney prior to the Holiday break. Coach Wade Brashear commenting on the success of his team at Sidney said “Overall we had a good showing in Sidney. We were missing three wrestlers which really hurt us on team points.
