    Kimball's season came to an end in the first round of the C2-12 Sub District Tournament, as they matched up against number one seed Bridgeport and were overmatched. Kimball ends its season 0-16 but had the opportunity to get younger players playing time that should translate into wins in coming seasons.     Kimball's Longhorn Wrestling team sent two members to the NSAA State Tournament last week to compete in the annual championships in Class D. Sophomore James McGinnis represented Kimball in the 126 pound weight class, and lost his first match by decision to Elkhorn Valley's Tristan Smith.     Kimball's Lady Longhorn basketball team was unable to improve its record over the last week, dropping a contest on the road against Morrill and then falling at home to Pine Bluffs. Kimball traveled to Morrill last Thursday Feb. 4, and both teams started hot, while the Longhorns struggled with turnovers.     Kimball wrestlers Connor Cluff and Trey Schindler were successful at the Hemingford Bobcat Invite last Friday, with each wrestler earning a gold medal for their efforts.     Kimball's Lady Longhorn basketball team drew a tough first game opponent in the Chase County Lady Longhorns in the first round of the SPVA Tournament on Tuesday, Jan. 19. Chase County got off to a fast start, doubling up Kimball 12-6 at the end of the first period, and led 26-11 at the half.     The Kimball County Commissioners conducted a public hearing to receive comment on the proposed Kimball County Budget and a public hearing for setting the Final Property Tax Request. By a 3-0 vote, the commissioners approved the tax request for $3,144,871 at their regular Tuesday meeting. The current levy is 0.449691 while the 2019-20 levy was 0.445032.     A woman was killed in a Saturday evening rollover at 7:20 p.m. on Highway 71 in Banner County at mile marker 36. Although the crash is still under investigation, the Nebraska State Patrol reported that the vehicle was southbound and crossed the median and northbound lanes, and that the driver over-corrected and the vehicle rolled.
