Box Tops for Education – A Winning Program

During the 2017-2018 school year, Mary Lynch Elementary raised over $1,000.00 through the General Mills Box Tops for Education Program. This program pays submitting schools ten cents per valid (not expired) Box Top submitted to be used to purchase school supplies to promote the students' education. This year, Mary Lynch students collected over 10,000 Box Tops.

Box Tops are collected five times throughout the school year. The student who collects the most Box Tops in each of the five collections receives a Subway gift certificate. This year, the monthly collection winners were: September - Timothy Hawthorne; October – Travis Fryda; December – Connor Deboodt; February – Jarrett Schutz; and May – Rylee Hottell.

The classes collecting the most Box Tops in each collection also receive a prize. This year's winning classes were Mrs. Kaeleigh Muir's AM Pre-K Class, Mrs. Carma Weisbrook's 5th grade class, and the second grade classes taught by Mrs. Jamie Murdoch and Mrs. Denelle Klosterman.

At the end of the school year, the Box Tops collected are tallied and each student receives a raffle ticket for every 100 Box Tops they have collected. This year, Connor Deboodt won a Longhorns stocking hat and Kyle Bohac won a Longhorn T-Shirt. Katie Hawthorne won a portable DVD player and Avery Green won the grand prize – a Polaroid Tablet.

Congratulations to all these winners, and the winning students at Mary Lynch Elementary who collected Box Tops this year. Please keep on collecting your Box Tops for Education and giving them to our school. The students of Mary Lynch Elementary appreciate your helping them "Make Change One Dime At A Time."
