Richard "Dick" A. Patterson, 90, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Cremation has been held and services will be held at a later date. Richard Arlie "Dick" Patterson was born in Ansley, Nebraska on April 11, 1928, the son of Leroy and Fannie (Tomiscek) Patterson. He received his education in Ansley. He was married to Irene Schmidt on November 4, 1947, and to this union Arlie, Kathy and Rhonda were born. The family moved to Kimball in September of 1968. Dick managed S.A. Foster Lumber until purchasing Patterson Hardware and Auto Parts in 1974. He continued working in the family business until retiring in 1998. Dick was a community minded person and served as fire chief and member of the rescue unit for Ansley Volunteer Fire Department. After moving to Kimball he served as President of Kimball-Banner County Chamber of Commerce, was a member of the Kimball Rotary Club and the Retail Hardware & Lumber Association. Dick was a hardworking man with many talents and a positive attitude. He enjoyed boating and fishing with family. He was a fan of the Nebraska Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos. His best day ever---coffee with the guys.

Survivors include his children, Arlie (Marilyn) Patterson, Kathy (Ed) Avila both of Kimball and Rhonda (Jim) Brent of Mesa, AZ; sister Marilyn (Keith) Hogg; brother Douglas Patterson; 9 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Irene.
