Suspected impaired driving leads to arrest for driving with a suspended license

According to an arrest affidavit from the Kimball Police Department on Jan. 16 at around 7:48 p.m., Joshua J. Curry was arrested in Kimball County for driving on a suspended license.

The arrest affidavit stated that on Jan. 16 at approximately 7 p.m., Kimball Police Chief Andy Bremer responded to the 300 block of S. Howard St. in Kimball, reference to a blue Chevrolet utility vehicle, bearing a Colorado license number.

Reports indicated the driver of said vehicle was driving erratically and could be intoxicated. Upon arrival, Bremer located the vehicle, parked and unoccupied, with the motor and lights still running, in front of 304 S. Howard.

According to the arrest affidavit dispatch checked the vehicle registration and advised it belong to Reane Curry. The affidavit also stated that Bremer knew Joshua Curry to reside at 304 S. Howard St. and, from previous contacts, knew him to be Renae Curry’s brother.

Bremer also stated that he had prior knowledge that Curry’s Nebraska drivers license was suspended at that time. Bremer stated in the affidavit that he stayed in the area until he observed Curry walk to the vehicle and shut the motor and lights out, then enter the residence.

According to the affidavit, at approximately 7:48 p.m., Bremer observed the vehicle leaving Woody’s Liquor Store, located in the 200 block of E. 3rd St. in Kimball, with the suspect driving and only occupant of the vehicle.

Bremer stopped the vehicle at 407 E. 3rd St., the current residence of Charlotte Walker and Renae Curry.

When dispatch confirmed Curry’s Nebraska drivers license was suspended, Bremer placed him under arrest and transported Curry to the Kimball County Jail, where he was left in custody of the jailer.
