Kimball wrestlers place fourth at Chase County Invite

Kimball took four wrestlers to the Chase County Invitational Tournament this past Saturday and all four placed in the top six medal group.

Garrett Pedersen at 120 and Connor Cluff at 113, both went 4 and 1 on the day and finished 3rd. Cluff had 2 falls and 2 decisions on the day, losing his one match by a 16-5 decision. Pedersen ran his season record to 21-7 with 2 wins by fall and 2 decisions and lost 8-0 to a wrestler from Hitchcock County who has wrestled over 50 matches this season already.

Jaden Mohr at 132, finished 2-3 on the day to take six place in his weight class. He had Kimball’s fast pin of the day registering a :22 second fall over a Minatare wrestler. He also won a 6-4 decision over Starr of Gordon-

Rushville and suffered 3 losses by fall.

Stephen Bateman at 195 ended up 4th with his 1-3 record winning by pin and losing 3 times by fall.

Coach Wade Brashear said, “Overall, we did not wrestle great, but we had some good moments. We have lost a few wrestlers this season for different reasons. We hope to have at least six athletes competing this Saturday

at Lingle at the Dogger Invitational."
