Area seniors take computer classes from retired veteran

Lincoln Brown teaches several senior citizens the basics during the first of several classes planned at the Kimball Friendship Center.

"We (seniors) want to be up to date with technology," said Katie Ryan of the Kimball Friendship Center.

Computer classes started last Thursday at the Kimball Friendship Center, with local retired veteran Lincoln Brown heading up the volunteer classes. According to Ryan the classes will be every Thursday from 12-1 p.m. for at least six weeks.

"This is a great way to expand everyone's afternoon, many of the seniors just come and eat lunch then leave, this gives them something new for an hour after lunch," added Ryan. "We are very grateful for Lincoln volunteering his time to teach us new thin...
