Letter to the Editor - Representing Nebraska well

We’re passers-through from Fort Morgan, Colorado who were done a huge favor recently by a Kimball resident and two others with local connections. We’d like to publically thank them.

During a recent storm, my wife and I got stuck in a ditch. After trying hard to get out, we called the nearby Kimball Municipal Airport. Ed Nelson answered and showed how much he cares by offering to call local contacts for us, and offered to help us himself if they were unable to help, despite being a considerable distance away.

The first person Ed called was Rick Kirby. Rick is also awesome. Despite already having gone to bed, and despite this being Christmas night, and despite there being a snowstorm in progress, and despite the temperature being 4, Rick came to our aid.

Another gentleman also arrived – whose name we, unfortunately, did not get – with a tow chain. He and Rick pulled us out and made sure we were safely on our way.

Many thanks to Ed, Rick, and our third helper – you represent Nebraska well!
