Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Darlean Wilson Swain

Darlean was born on a cold, wintery night on Jan. 5, 1933, in Kimball, Nebraska.

Her birth completed a family of nine, which included five brothers – Bill, Dick, Don, Bob and Melvin "Buss" Wilson, Jr. - Grandpa Cronn, mother Alice Cronn Wilson, and father Melvin Wesley Wilson.

Darlean married Robert Tim Swain on Nov. 25, 1951. They were together nearly 62 years when Bob died on Nov. 2, 2013. Three fantastic children, Robert (Pam), James (Jo), and Janet (Marty) completed their family, and they all married wonderful spouses.

Grandchildren Dennis Swain (Jackie), Brittany Alberson, Ben Alberson (Chris Manly), Hannah Blodgett (Dustin), Haley Swain, and Kenneth Alberson; great-grandchildren Brittney Jamieson (Jay), Rowan Weston and Reagan Blodgett; and great-great-grandchildren Tenley, Harper, and Jace Jamieson; and numerous nieces and nephews carry on her legacy.

Darlean was mostly a homemaker, but she also sold real estate, was an LPN and Job's Daughters Guardian, worked at Berry's Tall Fashions, and owned the Ramblin' Rolls, a coffee shop in downtown Billings.

Darlean rejoined Bob after a valiant fight on Nov. 29, 2017.

Her service is planned for 10 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4, at First United Methodist Church, 2800 Fourth Ave. N. Darlean requested that any memorials in her name be sent to Young Families and First United Methodist Church.
