Mary Lynch students honor area veterans at flagpole

More veterans arrived at the Mary Lynch Elementary School this year for the flag ceremony than in any year past, according to Elementary Principal Mike Mitchell.

"I think it helped having it on a different day than the High School had their assembly, plus the weather was great," Mitchell said. "It was much more enjoyable for the kids.

Nearly 30 past and present military men and women were on hand to experience the ceremony, which included the Pledge of Allegiance, patriotic songs and balloons.
