Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Kimball ladies reaching their season goals one course at a time

The season goals are being reached.

Kimball Girls Golf had two tournaments this past week, the first one was Tuesday, Sept. 19 in Ogallala.

The girls will head back to Ogallala for districts at the beginning of October, but Coach Culek couldn't have asked for a better experience for the girls to have a "practice round" before they make the trip back. "There were a few girls that struggled and learned a few things about the course before districts."

Lila Moore does it again for the Lady Longhorns with setting a new personal record, as well as, dropping her score under 100. "Lila did a fantastic job of keeping her head level and working toward her goal." At the beginning of the season Moore set a goal of scoring under 100, according to Coach Culek this was a very realistic goal and Lila worked hard to achieve it. "I am very proud of the work she has put into this." Lila finished Tuesday's tournament with a new personal best score of 97.

Leisha Casimro also had a personal best of 139, and Maddie cook ended with a 132, and Kate Fraser with a score of 134.

The second tournament last week was in Bridgeport for the final tournament of the season before districts. Lila Moore shot a 102, followed by Raven Johnson with a 123,Maddie Cook shot a good tournament with a 130, Natasha Selves with a 138, and Leisha Casmiro with a 144. Kimball's total team score in Bridgeport was 493.

Next up for Kimball Lady Longhorns is districts in Ogallala, next week.
