Banner County to accept bids for 14-passenger bus, begin budget process

The Banner County School Board will accept bids for a new or slightly used 14 passenger bus, this was one decision made when the board met on Monday, August 14, 2017.

The matter was discussed at length by the Buildings and Grounds committee.

“There are about three or four routes that could possibly use it,” board member and Buildings and Grounds committee chairperson Ron Johnson said. “It could also be used for an activities bus.”

A CDL is not required to drive a bus of that size, though a driver must still acquire a bus license.

The District’s Buildings and Grounds committee also discussed seeking Banner County assistance for a low spot in the District parking lot. The trouble area collects excess rain and snow, often leaving a large puddle in the parking lot.

The District has welcomed two new teachers, Grace Wyatt in Kindergarten and Tonya Stratton in Family and Consumer Sciences.

The board had their budget workshop on Tuesday, Aug. 22 and their next meeting will be on Monday, Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
