A tractor trailer combination owned by Pine Bluffs Gravel sits alongside the Union Pacific train immediately after the collision of the two. No injuries were reported due to the accident.
A Union Pacific train collided with a tractor trailer combination belonging to Pine Bluffs Sand and Gravel at approximately 8:34 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, according to Nebraska State Patrol.
The collision, which resulted in no injuries, happened at the railroad crossing on County Road 55E.
The semi was driving northbound at about 10 mph, crossing the railroad tracks and the trailer was struck by the train.
Responders from Kimball County Sheriff's Office, Nebraska State Patrol, Dix Fire and Rescue and Kimball County Ambulance Service were joined by Union Pacific responders and both the road and the tracks were cleared by noon.
