Reward offered for the arrest of vandals

Kimball Police Department is offering a $500 reward to anyone offering information that leads to an arrest for the recent incidents of vandalism in Kimball.

In the early morning hours of Thursday, June 22, unknown individuals vandalized several properties in Kimball, including personal and City property.

At the Kimball Swimming Pool the vandals spray painted the walls, dismantled equipment and plunged patio furnishings into the water.

By 8 a.m. city crews were busy covering the damaged walls and doors with a fresh coat of paint and Kimball Swimming Pool manager Reagan Hinton said that the pool would open in time for children to arrive that afternoon.

"We are not going to let a bunch of kids without anything better to do ruin the day for the kids," she said.

Spray paint defaced the buildings at Gotte Park as well and Four Winds Golf Course also received damage.

Numerous homes and vehicles were vandalized, including racial slurs in spray paint.

The matter is currently being investigated by the Kimball Police Department and Chief Andy Bremer believes those responsible vandalized the swimming pool last summer as well.

Again, a $500 reward is being offered to anyone with any information that leads to an arrest of the individuals involved. If you have any information, you can call the Kimball Police Department at 308-235-3608 or can remain anonymous by calling Crimestoppers at 308-632-STOP.
