Thelma Brothers

Thelma G. Brothers, 93, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Sunday, June 11, 2017. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Pleasant View Cemetery in Lodgepole, NE. There will be no visitation. Friends may visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view Thelma's Tribute Wall and leave condolences for the family. Memorials may be given to the family. The services for Thelma have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Thelma Gertrude Brothers was born on August 18, 1923, the daughter of William and Lucy (Bilkert) Stevenson. She was raised and attended school in Huntley, Wyoming. She received her teaching degree from the University of Wyoming in Laramie in the early 1940's. She moved to Kimball and began her teaching career. Thelma was married to Clide Hall in Torrington, Wyoming in 1943. She later taught at Mid West, Wyoming and then in Burns, Wyoming. Clyde preceded her in death. Thelma was married to Floyd Brothers in Sidney in 1965. While teaching in Burns, Thelma would drive to Kimball on the weekends and work as a waitress at the Hickory Inn. She retired in 1985 and moved to Kimball. She enjoyed bowling and bowled on leagues for several years. She also liked to travel and enjoyed her trip to Alaska. Thelma was a very giving person and would help anyone in need. Her faith was very important to her and she was active in her church.

Survivors include her daughters Zelma Hall of Berlin, WI., and Wilma Jean (Ron) Heuck of Lodgepole, NE; 13 grandchildren and several great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, 1 brother and 4 great grandchildren.
