New Dimension to perform at Denver Nuggets game this Spring

Second opportunity for national audience

New Dimension, Kimball High School’s show choir, will once again have the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at a Denver Nuggets game in March.

Because the group attended last year, and many expressed interest in doing so again, according to choir teacher and show choir coach, Jacob Hoffman, he budgeted much of the expense into his classroom budget.

“The kids pay for their own tickets to the game,” band teacher and show choir coach Kristi-Hiles Smith said. “If the kids have money in their individual account, they can use that to help defer the cost of their ticket.”

Superintendent Marshall Lewis added that members of the show choir learn the value of performing in a national venue.

“I would highlight the educational merit and the value of performing,” superintendent Marshall Lewis said. “I do appreciate the fact that we do try to make available many venues for our students. Some are at a higher level than others. This is another opportunity to showcase that and give them the experience for those that want to push it to that level.”

Students will return to school by noon on the following day and will be expected to attend classes that Monday.

The board unanimously approved overnight, out-of-state travel for the students.
