Kimball actually was to play a Nebraska Hall of Fame game at Gering this past Saturday involving both girls and boys. If you missed it, you didn’t miss much, in my opinion. It was a scrimmage, in practice jerseys, with no score clock, no score book, no programs, no PA system. Unless you were keeping score yourself, and unless you knew the names of the players, you went home not knowing much. I can tell you that the Class B Gering teams won handily.

I can tell you that a couple of new faces for the girls looked good including senior Jannel Fiehtner who sat out last year, and Carli Wurdeman, new to the program after being injured most of her junior high years. We know the Reader sisters are going to play strong. On the boy’s side, seniors Jordan Greenwood and Brandon Barker looked capable but some of the other top prospects were not there due to being gone for the Holiday, or even ineligible grade wise. Better get this fixed! It would be my hope we play some other school next year that treats it more like a game, like schools we have played in the past.

-----------------------------------------------

The Kimball Junior High Wrestlers have competed in 4 tournaments already and have some good results. At the Banner County Tournament Tyler Adams, Thomas Muldoon, Conner Glanz, Connor Cluff, and Zander Hottell were all 2nd with Ethan Ratzlaff 3rd.

At the Kimball Tournament Muldoon, Ratzlaff, and Hotell all finished 1st, Glanz and Cluff 2nd and Adams, Illian Serrrano and Parker Kudebeh 3rd.

At Hemingfor Glanz, Cluff, and Ratzlaff were champions, Hottell 2nd, Muldoon, Serrano, and Kudebeh 3rd. At the Morrill tournament Ratzlaff was the lone champion with Hottell 2nd, Adams, Muldoon and Cluff all 4th.

Coach Klent Schnell has 9 wrestlers out and is pleased with the way they have been progressing. The tournament at Grand was cancelled for Kimball because of weather. They wrestled at Bayard this past Tuesday and will finish out the season at Mitchell this Monday.
