Kimball-Banner Counties 4-H Recognizes Member Achievements

4-H’ers and their families celebrated their accomplishments of the last year during the annual Kimball-Banner Counties Awards Celebration on Saturday, November 4, during a skating party at the Brannon Bounce House in Gering. 4-H members and leaders were recognized for their achievements.

Outstanding 4-H’er for 2016 was Chloe Berger, daughter of Aaron and Elise Berger of Kimball.

Friend of 4-H was Danessa Terrill for her dedication and service to the 4-H program.

The 4-H Diamond Clover Program is a statewide program which encouraged 4-H’ers to participate in a variety of projects and activities. Everyone who participates is eligible to earn recognition. Youth progress from Level 1 to Diamond Level 6. This year’s recipient was: Level 1 Amethyst – Dakota Vrbas.

4-H’ers recognized as having the best 4-H career portfolio in their respective project areas received certificates, project pins and project scholarships for their accomplishments. These 4-H’ers and their project areas are:

Junior project winners: Rachel Berger – Beef, Healthy Lifestyles; Aspyn Keifer – Home Environment; Isac Olsen – Beef, Healthy Lifestyles; Dakota Vrbas – Gardening, Healthy Lifestyles; Lucas Vrbas – Swine, Food & Nutrition; and Andie West – Beef, Photography.

Intermediate Project Winners: Chloe Berger – Beef, Clothing; Haddie Grubbs – Clothing, Sheep; Alex Rundell – Swine; Alycia Vrbas – Healthy Lifestyles, Poultry.

Senior Project Winners: Nicole Delaplane – Horse; Courtney Rundell – Swine; Kayla Thurin – Home Environment, Leadership, Sheep.

McKynna Deeds was awarded certificates in recognition of completing Levels 1 and 2 of the 4-H Horse advancement levels.

4-H Council members were recognized for their service: Chelsie Autrey, Vicki Grubbs, Tiffani Johnson, Stephanie Pederson, and Brandi Wasielewski. Youth members were Nathaniel Mars, Garrett Pederson, Jackie Stauffer, Monica Wasielewski and Abigail Johnson.

Receiving recognition for milestone membership years were these 3-year members: Alex Anton, Samantha Bemis, Lily Cunis, Kylie Fiehtner, Aaron Gillming, Marie Hein, Shannen Marks, Nathaniel Mars, Timothy Mars, Delaney McGowan, Kaiiley Nicklas, Kyla Ramsey, Saydi Schanaman, Emily Singleton, Bailee Underhill, and Julia Winstrom.

5-year members: Helen Hein, Maddie Cook, McKynna Deeds, Courtney Rundell, Chloe Berger, and McKenzie Deboodt.

10-year members are Jadyn Golding, Josh Jenkins and Monica Wasielewski.

These leaders were recognized for one year of service to the 4-H program: Laura Bateman and Kimberly Sharples. Katie Culek and Debbie Dickerson have 15 years of volunteering with 4-H. Klent Schnell has served 20 years as a 4-H volunteer.

One club received a $500 grant from the Governor’s Award of Excellence. This club was Colts & Fillies. LaValla Rehere is the leader.
