Albert "Al" W. Madden

Albert "AL" Warren Madden, 70, of Greybull, Wyoming passed away Monday, September 26, 2016 at South Big Horn County Hospital between Basin and Greybull, Wyoming.

Al was born June 26, 1946 in Scottsbluff, Nebraska to Roscoe "Rox" Eugene Madden and Eudene (Warner) Madden. Al grew up in Nebraska and received his schooling at Harrisburg, Nebraska. Al served his country in the U.S. Army from November 28, 1966 to August 29, 1969.

Al met and married his first wife, Linda Osten on June 5, 1966 in Columbus, Nebraska. To this union were born three children: Noamie, Bryan, and Tawnya. Al and Linda enjoyed traveling and camping. Linda passed away on November 26, 2001.

Al met and married his second wife, Irene Rose Murin on December 29, 2009 in Powell, Wyoming.

Al was an avid golfer and enjoyed farming. He loved his family, enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, and loved giving his grandchildren their first sucker. Al was very community oriented and helped establish fundraisers for local events. He organized the Linda Madden Golf Tournament in memory of his first wife which took place around July 4th of each year.

Al was a life time member of the Elks Lodge and was a 35-year member of the Eagles Aerie in Worland and Basin, Wyoming. He was a member of Midway Golf Course.

Al is preceded in death by his parents, Rox and Eudene Madden; his first wife, Linda Madden; two brothers; and one sister.

Al is survived by his wife, Irene Madden of Greybull, Wyoming; three children: Noamie (Loren) Niemitalo of Gillette, Wyoming, Bryan (Carrie) Madden of Ohio, and Tawnya Crowley of Sheridan, Wyoming; two step-daughters, Brenda (Ron) Vanderpool of Laramie, Wyoming and Jennifer (Jerold) Preis of Burlington, Wyoming; 9 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Grace Fellowship Church in Greybull with Pastor Dave Seratt as officiant. Full military graveside rites will follow at the end of the service outside of the church.

A memorial fund has been established at Bank of Greybull, 601 Greybull Avenue, Greybull, WY 82426 with proceeds to go to the Linda Madden Scholarship Fund or to the Brendon Laird Memorial Fund.
