Marthajane "Jane" Merryfield

Marthajane "Jane" Merryfield, 80, of Kimball, died at the Davis Hospice Center in Cheyenne, Wyoming on Saturday, September 3, 2016. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 9, 2016 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Kimball with Father Sagar officiating. Christian Wake Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 7:00 p.m. Visit http://www.cantrellfh.com to view Jane's Tribute Wall and leave messages of sympathy for the family. Memorials may be given in Jane's name to a charity of the donor's choice or St. Joseph's Altar Society. The services for Jane have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Jane was born August 14, 1936 in Lamont, Iowa, daughter of Edith and Ivan Windenburg.

Jane was a lady of great faith. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved to sing, and dance and spend time with her family. She was very active in the Catholic Church. Jane worked as secretary for Christ the King Catholic Church; an insurance adjuster for Industrial Indemnity. She married James A. Merryfield on July 12, 1957. She had six children, many "foster" children, twenty-seven grand children and twenty-five great grandchildren. Upon retiring, she moved to Kimball in 1992 with her husband. Jane was very active in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, the Altar Society and early with Keep Kimball Beautiful.

She is survived by her husband, James, her sons Jim (Penny), Jerry, Johnny (Amparo), daughters Jeanette, Julie Mah (Jeff), and Janie Fischer (Jeff); twenty-seven grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren. Nephews Craig and Michael Kruse, Adam Newcomer and niece Gayle Newcomer. Foster children Bobby, Larry and Randy. She also leaves behind many extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edith and Albin, her sister Jean Kruse and daughter-in-law Susan Merryfield.
