Marjorie (Margie) Evans

Marjorie (Margie) Evans, 82, of Kimball, died at the Kimball County Manor on Monday, August 22, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 25, 2016 at the First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Caryl Miller officiating. Burial will be held in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1:00 until 5:00 p.m. to sign the register book and leave condolences for the family. The services for Marge have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Marjorie (Margie) Evans was born in Kimball on May 24, 1934, the daughter of Phillip and Lydia (Frohm) Stahla. Margie attended nurses training in Denver, CO after graduating from high school. Margie was married to Lee Shirk in 1954.  She then returned to Kimball and worked for Dr. Shamberg for many years. She was married to Steve Evans in 1977.  She also worked for First State Bank and Super 8 Motels in Ogallala. Margie spent all of her summers at her second home at Lake McConaughy and loved fishing and water skiing.  She also had a great love for birds and animals and loved to garden and cook.  Margie also had a huge heart and was always happy to help anyone and everyone. Family was very important to Margie and they were all blessed by her love and presence in their lives.

Survivors include her brother Rich (Joyce) Stahla of Chadron, NE; nieces and nephews Debbie Rawalt, Carol Mazo, Sharon Deboodt, Kathy Wistrom, Tom Bowman, Terri Ross, Dale Stahla, Tammy Carlisle, and Rex Stahla; numerous great and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceeded in death by her parents and son Mike.
