Donna J. Barrett

Donna J. Barrett, 68, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with Pastor Carla Gunn officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until 6:00 p.m. Messages of sympathy for the family can be posted on Donna's Tribute Wall at http://www.cantrellfh.com. Memorials have been established to Prairie Haven Hospice. The services for Donna have been entrusted to the Cantrell Funeral Home.

Donna Jean Barrett was born in Lyons, Kansas on September 10, 1947, the daughter of Gene and Jewell (Cannon) Morgart. She lived in the Chase and Sterling Kansas areas until moving with her family to Kimball in 1960. She graduated from the Kimball High School in 1965. Donna was married to David Barrett in 1966 and in January of this year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Donna and Dave moved to Chase, Kansas in 2007. She worked in the banking industry and many other administrative positions over the years. She attended and graduated from WNCC in 1994 with an Associates of Applied Science degree in business technology. Donna was also an avid reader and animal lover.

Survivors include her husband David Barrett of Kimball, NE; sons Doug (Michelle) Barrett of Kimball, NE., Dennis Barrett of Burns, WY., Duane (Jennifer) Barrett of Gothenburg, NE., and Donald Barrett of Scottsbluff, NE; brothers Randy (Neva) Morgart of Moscow Mills, MO., and Jeff Morgart of Scottsbluff, NE; step-mother Marilyn Morgart of Bushnell, NE; 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren and numerous other family and friends and her beloved dog Dory. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Ellsworth Morgart and Jerry Morgart and daughter-in-law Vicki Barrett.
