Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

Letter to the editor

Kimball’s Gem

We wanted to express our great appreciation for the services offered at the Information Center on Interstate 80 and we would like to have the people in your area know what a gem your community has in the Nebraska Visitor Center but also in the outstanding person that you have as the “face of your community”.

We recently had the opportunity to be traveling through and were able to stop and visit with Jo Caskey at the Information Center. We had planned on stopping only a few minutes but we had to pull ourselves away and could very well have stayed much longer. She is a delight and your Center is a huge addition to showcase your town.

She was able to answer our questions, provided helpful data, maps and an extremely pleasant visit during a day of much travel.

It was a bright spot in what could have been a very long and tiring day as well as information.

The facility was both clean and well maintained and inviting to anyone wanting to stop.

You should be applauded for your efforts to make traveling in Nebraska a most enjoyable experience.

Your Information Center is a shining example of hospitality for anyone traveling through your area.

We travel a lot of states and many could learn from your outstanding example. It is always interesting to learn and meet someone new but you have raised the bar so high that it will be a long time before we see the likes of your Visitor Center in another community. We plan to stop again even if we have to drive out of the way just to say “Hi”!

Thank you for all your efforts on behalf of tourists. Thank you once again for a wonderful “Meet-and-Greet!”
