Observations all along the line - Kimball & the Southern Panhandle First

LTTE: Is this the end of the local VFW post?

Our VFW Post 2243 cannot continue to function without new members. Only a handful show up for our meetings. Many of our former members have passed “Final Muster” and are now in eternity.

Our Post is now in the twilight of its existence. Many of you folks do not know the VFW members throughout the U.S. dedicate millions of hours to spread patriotism and honor our nations heroes.

Some of our initiative are:

1.Youth and education – providing scholarships

2.Troop support – America’s largest organization of combat vets

3.Community Service – honor guards, flag disposals, etc.

4.Flag etiquette – teaching the U.S. Flag code

5.Student Vets of America – helping vets prosper in their post-military endeavors.

Friends, it would be a tragedy if we had to close down. Please don’t let it happen. Join the Post Vets!!!

For God and Country,

Don Olson, VFW Post 2243
