JUNIOR HIGH GIRLS OPEN BOUNCE BALL SEASON

The Kimball Junior High Girl's Basketball season is off and running with two games under their belts at the time of this writing.

Kimball opened the season hosting a tall and talented Pine Bluffs team that already had 5 games behind them when they arrived in Kimball. The visiting club won the A game 42-17 behind the 22 points of six footer D. Sweeter. For Kimball, Sydney Biesecker had 7, Raven Johnson 3, Jenna Greenwood 3, Alyson Holt 2, and Megan Spicer 2. Pine also won the B game 20-7 with Jaydin Paxton high for Kimball with 6 and Spicer

with 1.

Coach Michele Daum said "Pine Bluffs came in with almost half a season of games already behind them. They had too much height for us on top of that, but we are working hard to get our game working like we want."

The Kimball girls were back in action Monday evening and picked up wins over visiting Bridgeport with the A Team winning 27-17 led by the quick and talented Megan Spicer who broke for several layins and led the Shorthorns with 12 points. Jenna Greenwood and Sydney Biesecker worked hard inside for Kimball scoring 7 and 6 respectively. Bailie Brower chipped in with 2 points.

Kimball won the B game 22-11 with Emma Martin putting on a show with her all around court play. Martin ended up high with 16 points backed by Jaydin Paxton, Brandi Councilman, and Brooklin Golding all with 2 each.

Coaches Daum and Danielle Reader were able to use all of their 14 players consisting of only four 8th graders and ten 7th graders and there is some talent in this group. The upcoming schedule had them back in action this past Tuesday at Gering, a trip to Ogallala this Saturday, and on the road to Pine Bluffs Monday (Nov. 23).
