Why did you get into teaching? I enjoy helping young adults learn and watching them grow into mature, responsible adults. It's always a personal reward when I witness student's small and large successes!

What are you looking forward to most this year? I'm excited to gain new learning and teaching experiences, as well as to develop relationships with students, staff and community members.

What do you feel will be most challenging? Most rewarding? The most challenging task this year will be developing curriculum and ancillary material. The most rewarding is, again, watching students succeed.

Will you be involved in any additional activities? I will be an assistant coach for speech, and a junior class sponsor.

Additional comments: I am extremely excited to begin teaching. I've met many friendly and welcoming community members. Potter already feels like "home."

Stephanie Paxton

What do you enjoy about your job? I like cooking for the kids.

What are you looking forward to most this year? Making the kids happy.

What do you feel will be most challenging? Most rewarding? Learning the likes and dislikes of the kids taste. Smiles on their faces when I make something good.

Ethan Sullivan

Why did you get into teaching? I have a passion for education and its importance to societal growth and felt that the best way to make a difference was to teach.

What are you looking forward to most this year? I am looking forward to getting to know the students and helping them reach their potential.

What do you feel will be most challenging? Most rewarding? Being far away from my family and friends will be challenging but I look forward to forming new relationships and growing as an individual.

Will you be involved in any additional activities? Yes, I will be an assistant in football and basketball as well as National Honor Society.

Evelyn Hornbarger

Grade/subjects teaching: English, match and civics.

Hometown: Milan, New Mexico.

Family: Ian Hornbarger, husband; and children, Julie, 9, Tess, 7, Kaylee, 4, and Seth, 2.

Why did you get into teaching? I love to learn and I love people. Teaching is an opportunity to learn with others and there is nowhere else I'd rather be.

What are you looking forward to most this year? I look forward to getting my rhythm as a teacher and helping students see the world in new ways.

What do you feel will be most challenging? Most rewarding? The most challenging aspect will be work/life balance. Life is busy! The rewarding aspect for me is working hard at a profession I enjoy.

Will you be involved in any additional activities? I am the 8th grade sponsor.

Additional comments: This is my dream job. Potter has welcomed me with open arms and I am delighted to be part of the community.
