KHS golf tourney set for Aug. 15 at Four Winds

The 24th annual Kimball Hospital Foundation Golf Classic is set for Saturday, Aug. 15, at the Four Winds Golf Course in Kimball. The event is a four-person scramble tournament open to players of all abilities, and a truly fun 18-hole event. Lunch will be served beforehand, and all players receive a Foundation Golf Classic 25-pack golf cart cooler and a buffet supper at Wind Break Bar & Grill.

This year’s fundraiser tournament offers a putting contest for cash prizes and a chance to win a new Chevrolet Spark for a hole-in-one on the par-3 third hole, courtesy of Wolf Automotive in Kimball.

Players will also have the chance to win a Trail Boss pellet grill and numerous other prizes.

The tournament is the foundation’s biggest fundraising event of the year, with all money raised going to purchase a new state-of-the-art surgical table for Kimball Health Services with a price tag of $23,000.

“The Foundation Golf Classic has been a popular local tournament for a number of years,” said Kerry Ferguson, executive director of the foundation. “The community’s support really goes a long way toward helping the hospital and clinic continue to provide our residents with quality, affordable health care.”

Local businesses have the opportunity to get a four-person team together and play, sponsor a particular hole, donate merchandise or gift certificates for flag or door prizes, or simply make a cash donation, Ferguson said. The cost is $75 per player, or $300 per team.

Lunch and registration are at 11 a.m. at the Wind Break, and the shotgun start is at 12 noon. To register to play or help sponsor, contact Ferguson at 235-1967. The entry deadline is Aug. 7. To reserve a cart, contact the Four Winds Pro Shop at 235-4241.
